Sašo

My name is Sašo and I was born in Bitola, Macedonia. I am 26 years old and I have one older brother. I have studied informational System Management at Ohrid University in Bitola.

I have a talent for learning new languages and I feel very good by doing that. Also, I am very interested in geography, architecture, photography and astrology. My hobby is cycling and alpinism. My favourite food is every of the traditional home-made food, no matter from what country it is. I love to travel and to meet new people, especially from Balkan countries. Thank you for being able to participate on this project ! :)

Aldior

I am Aldior and I am 26 years old. What to tell about me ? My life is mostly associated to food, even more than to my family, because I work in restaurant since my the age of 13 years. Making food represents a big passion in my life. I love cooking and preparing all kinds of traditional and modern meals.

My second passion is traveling and I see that the world is actually small. My next destination is going to be Japan. I want to work there and to get more experiences to become a master chef. Aside that I play football, I bike a I like walking, these activities create my personal silence.. When I grow up from my old clothes, I like to donate them, what is inspiring in a way and, as I believe, it helps to create a better future for everyone.

Artur

My name is is Artur and I am 24 years old. I am studying Law at the State University of Tetovo. As a child I have lived in Tetovo and in Slovenia. I work as a waiter in Tetovo for already 12 years. It is a great experience, becuase it brings me the opportunity to travel a lot and to work at different places. Football is one of my big hobbies.

I am a very romantic person. What makes me inspire and relaxed a lot is music and good food. One of my favourites are lasagne.

Vesel

I am Vesel, what means – „happy all the time!“ :) I come from the most polluted city in the world – Tetovo. Currently I am studying
medicine at State University of Tetovo. I am a co-founder of the Macedonia Cap Project and of a movement Eco Guerilla. The aim of the MCP is to collect and recycle plastic caps from which we can donate for example a wheelchair for people with diabilities whose need it, but can´t afford it. I the other project we fight against the air pollution. We are trying to make Tetovo a better place to live in. We organize activities like panels, debates and huge mass protests. I like to play table tennis, swimming and traveling, but what I like most is just to be happy.

Marija

Aloha !
I am Marija, an extremely open minded person, I love to smile, to laugh and to create a positive enrgy that is easily shared through the air. I am a vegetarian, I love meeting new people, I believe in them, I believe in love. I like the idea of helping to each other a lot, giving a hand to a stranger sounds very allright to me. This approach, I believe, is necessary to feel your own presence on this world. I am an adventure seeker, I do mountaneering, sailing, hiking, running marathon, doing yoga, playing piano..(so many passions, not enough of time :)) My favourite food is pizza accompanied with red wine. When I cook, I like to combine rice with veggies and beans, I like to prepare fresh salads. I believe in the phrase of „you are what you eat“. I think there is a connection between food and diseases as in curing of them – again, with food. So I try to be „picky“ and to be aware of what I am eating.

The purpose of living is to be happy, I think, so it is good to be surrounded by open minded people and to have a nice discussion with them over a good and healthy food and a little bit of high quality red wine.

Blendi

Hello, my name is Blendi and I come from Struga, a small and beautiful city located in Macedonia. I have studied the Law Faculty and have reached the Bachelor degree of law. At the moment I am a student of postgradual studies at South East European University in Tetovo. Beside the studies I participate on different youth forums and centers, which work with the youth community and are engaged in human rights. When I have a free time, I love to spend it by writing about the actual situation and by getting knowledges with reading books.

Genci

My name is Genci and I am 22 years old. I come from Debar. I have 2 sisters and one brother. My hobbies are painting, acting, swimming and I realy like food. I am a cook myself, I like to prepare meals for my friends and family, although my profession is a
bartender. I have worked aside of my hometown abroad as well, in Italy for example, to gain more experiences. I love to make coctails and I like to taste different kinds of meals, my favourite is italian cuisine. My passion is music, I have it in my blood. My two uncles are musicians and we are good singers as well..

Ermal

My name is Ermal and I come from Debar, I am 26 years old. I have two sisters and I am the middle one. I have studied the State University of Tetovo – Management and Marketing. My hobbies are hiking, kayaking and parachuting. I love to eat, but also to cook, I am very good at that, I guess and I enjoy doing so for my family and friends.

My favourite recipe is „tava“, which is being prepared with onions, potatoes, garlic and peppers, sometimes also with chicken meat. It is delicious and a pleasant meal. My favourite food from childhood was a piece of home made bread, sprinkled with sugar and water.

My future mission is to open an agency for online marketing, I would like to use my knowledges and skills for people all around the world. I love to travel to see places like old cities and monuments, I am interested in historical legacy of the world and I like to admire its beauty.

One of the most essential things for me is friendship, I consider friends as my second family. I like to meet new people and Fronterra gave me the chance to do it. Thank you !

Ardi

I am Adrian, 26 years old. I come from Skopje. I finished a medical high school and I have just reached the Bachelor degree in Law at State University in Tetovo.

I am a real adventure lover. Sport means a lot for me, I play football, I like to run, to hike and do biking. My motto is: „Life is short, let´s move“.

Ana

Hola !
My name is Ana and I consider myself to be a friendly and outgoing person, which really enjoys to travel alone and to meet new people like that, getting know their stories.

Beside the traveling, I am really passionate about cooking, especially the traditional kinds of recipes, but with a slight touch of modern trends. I also love to experiment with cooking and I love to get inspierd from the culinary shows from channels like “24Kitchen”.

I am an ex race swimmer and nowadays I mostly do biking in my neighburhood and hiking to the nearest mountain Vodno. I also practice madetation twice a day, I believe, that if you are really passionate about something, the Universe will make your wish come true.

Monika

Hey, Hey !
My name is Monika, the most optimistic person you ever had the pleasure to meet.. :) ! As an artist I am very picky about the food I eat. I like my food to be as pleasing to look at so as pleasant to taste.

On a daily basis I like stimulating my taste cells by different combinations of tastes and I usually cook by myself. My favourite meal is melted cheese and I am also a fan of indian cuisine and, of course, a traditional macedonian. I strongly believe that the best conversation starter is shopska with home made rakia. If I want to burn the callories succesfully gained through good fod, I do yoga and mountaneering.

Natasha

Hi, my name is Natasha. I`m 34 years old. I`m from Ohrid, Macedonia. I work like Macedonian teacher at one primary school.

Once I have read about Fronterra on a social media web site, my sister told me about it. When I saw this idea I felt strongly attracted to this project, so I steppted into it !!!

I expected it to be intresting, but not in that extent. It was very impressionable how the whole team worked like one. The whole day, wherever to looked, you could see happy and smiling faces.

No one told us how to think. . .we just started to understand where we make mistakes about some approaches of the problem solving. We just enjoyed every minute of this project.

In the end we understood that from this moment we are larger in our thoughts and richer with our friends. We realized that everyone has some dream and that we are the same, we are one.

Elena

I am Elena, 31, post-Yugoslav. I’m a nomad, a dreamer, and a believer in the power of communities. My role in the Fronterra project is being a coordinator of the Fronterra Macedonia part. I decided to take a part in this project because it is driven by an idea that brings together energy, usefulness, creativity, great team, community development and to top it all off, amazing food and fun. What’s there not to like?If I should describe Fronterra, I´d say it is a small spark in the direction of people joining forces, talents and ideas to creating something both economically and societally useful.

At the first time my expectations of the project were lower, given that a lot was expected from the participants in a very short period of time. But the participants not only surprised me, but also far surpassed the initial expectations. While there is still room for improvement of the Fronterra program, there is no doubt that this kind of initiatives are much needed in Macedonia and the Balkan region more broadly.

I should say what food means to me: food is about pleasure and about exploration. I enjoy different cuisines, but my favourite are Japanese cuisine, as well as fusion dishes, which bring together the best of multiple worlds.
